Job Description:

We are currently looking to hire a professional Carpenter. The ideal candidate will be hard-working, goal-oriented, and able to work well under pressure.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Prepare layouts using provided specifications and work orders
• Use measuring tools to prepare layouts in conformance to building codes
• Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel and other materials
• Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring and erect walls and roof systems
• Fit and install trim items, such as doors, stairs, moulding and hardware
• May supervise apprentices and other general construction workers

Requirements:

• Secondary school diploma
• 1 to 2 years of experience as a Carpenter
• Good English language skills
• Familiarity with workplace safety, safe lifting and handling procedures

Compensation and Conditions:

• $28.00per hour for a 40-hour work week
• Occasional overtime may be required for meeting critical deadlines. Overtime pay will apply after 40 hours of work per week and will be remunerated at one and a half times the regular pay rate
